Job Summary
The Division of Pediatric Psychology at Michigan Medicine invites applications for a faculty appointment (open rank) within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Michigan Medical School. Michigan Medicine is located in Ann Arbor, a vibrant and diverse community consistently rated as one of the best places to live in the United States.
The division seeks a pediatric psychologist to provide clinical service, research and program development within the Pediatric Pain Program at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. The administrative home of the successful candidate will be the Division of Pediatric Psychology, which is comprised of faculty who are fully integrated into pediatric subspecialty areas and have close and supportive working relationships with both community pediatricians and hospital-based physician specialists. Supervision and training for pediatric psychology postdoctoral fellows, interns, advanced practicum students, pediatric house officers and medical students is also expected.
This position will be a primarily clinical appointment with opportunities available to engage in program development, quality improvement, scholarly activity and teaching that align with the overall objectives and activities of the Division of Pediatric Psychology, Department of Pediatrics and Michigan Medicine. The successful applicant will also have experience and expertise in pediatric pain research as a significant portion of this new position will be to join a growing interdisciplinary team of pediatric pain researchers. The research opportunities in pediatric pain will be in partnership with the Department of Anesthesiology and the Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center, dedicated to research pertaining to pediatric patients with ongoing pain needs.
Required Qualifications*
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree from an APA/CPA-accredited program and internship, postdoctoral training in pediatric psychology and be licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the state of Michigan. Successful applicants will have interdisciplinary clinical experience working with children and adolescents with pain conditions. Experience in program development, implementation and clinical research is also desired. Faculty rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
