About the Role:
Provides high-quality compound intake and request fulfillment. Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and works cross-functionally with chemists, scientists and IT colleagues across Research. Utilize a variety of automation and software tools to track, store, pick, plate and deliver samples. Reviews and contributes to updating existing protocols, workflows, automation and LIMS/software and are also sufficiently skilled to navigate novel situations, such as new sample types or sources, when they arise by both addressing short term needs to keep our science moving forward swiftly while establishing and implementing long term solutions with our team of chemists, scientists and IT personnel. Serves as a subject matter expert to less experienced colleagues._
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):Perform compound management workflows and tasks including manual transfer and weighing of compounds in powder format, compound dissolution, and preparation of compound solutions in plated formats using both manual and automated systems
Provide support for HTS screening and hit-to-lead efforts using automation, liquid handling, inventory management tools
Generate compound plates for routine assays
Work with Automation team to develop methods for liquid handlers, tube sorters, barcode readers and other automation
Work closely with Research Informatics to implement online sample tracking and request/fulfillment tools
Collaborate with biologists, chemists and IT to design and implement workflows when needed
Work closely with Chemists and Analytical Chemists to check and update purity of DMSO-solubilized stock samples available for screening
Work closely with Chemists, IT and EHS to maintain accurate inventory of reagents and starting materials for synthesis
Adapt to new workflows, sample sources, sample types, etc. as needed by developing short term solutions to enable new science and then working with stakeholders to develop long term robust, automated processes once best practices have been established
Maintain laboratory instruments in good operating condition and perform basic troubleshooting
May help to mentor and lead less experienced colleagues
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline and 5+ years of hands-on experience in compound management and an excellent understanding of underlying processes OR
Master's in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline and 3+ years of experience OR
PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline and some relevant experience; may include postdoc experience
Proven capabilities to think critically and creatively
Demonstrated ability to provide high level of customer support and professionalism
Expertise operating, programming and troubleshooting various instrumentation including weigh stations, automated compound stores, liquid handlers, acoustic dispensers, plate handlers, and tube sorters
Proven analytical abilities with high attention-to-detail and strong record-keeping
Strong communication and organizational skills
Strong team orientation; highly collaborative and flexible
Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
Prior lead experience strongly preferred
Enthusiastically engage in hands-on workflows including weighing, dissolution, compound storage/retrieval, and solid & liquid dispensing
Strong background in Chemistry or Biochemistry
Driven, resourceful, and able to work independently and display scientific curiosity and rigor
Excellent organizational skills in management of data, and internal and external collaborations, are essential
Demonstrated ability to participate in regular team meetings and formulate conclusions and strategies moving forward within the context of broader project goals
Teamwork and excellent verbal and written communication skills

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $106,400.00-$154,325.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
